The story of “Alive in the Night”
Alive in the Night is a 4 track collaborative EP by myself and my friend Hewie Lou. Hewie and I met on discord! He has a server that I ended up joining. I can’t even remember how I found it. At the time he had just released an album so I checked it out and thought it was really good. I told him I liked it and he also said he liked my music. We talked for a bit and then he asked to collaborate. I had never collared with a lo-fi producer before so I was like, okay sure, should be fun… We made one song and from there we both knew we were on to something special. Hewie said “Bro we should make an EP” and I was like “U right fr” and then we started the EP. We made this in a week! Lots of hours spent on discord call tweaking things. I would rush back to my dorm after classes and work on it with him.
Now here’s the official story of the music

“Alive in the Night” is the discovery of the wonders of the night. It begins the journey which our protagonist takes through the forest of mystery.

“Fireflies” represents magical fireflies appearing and helping the protagonist through the darkness, guiding him through the calming nature of the night

“Aurora” is the separation from the lush forest and into open pastures. The night sky lights up and the Northern Star guides the way. The protagonist follows, hoping to discover something valuable but instead discovers true tranquility of mind

“Moondust” falls from the sky and the protagonist has achieved true inner peace. The moon descends over the horizon and the sun dawns a new day. It is the end of one journey, and the beginning of another.
